Anton Du Beke: Ballroom and Latin Dance Star

Early Life and Career

Anthony Paul Beke, known professionally as Anton Du Beke, was born on July 20, 1966, in Sevenoaks, Kent, England. His passion for dance ignited at an early age when he started ballroom dancing lessons at just 13. By the time he was in his early 20s, Du Beke had already made a name for himself in the competitive ballroom dance circuit, winning numerous national and international titles.

Ballroom and Latin Dance Achievements

Du Beke achieved tremendous success in both ballroom and Latin dance competitions. He is a two-time British National Champion in Ballroom and six-time British National Champion in Latin. He also represented Great Britain in international competitions, winning medals at the World Dance Council European Championships and the World Dance & Showdance Championships.

Television and Beyond

In addition to his dance career, Du Beke has made significant contributions to television. He joined the popular BBC show "Strictly Come Dancing" in 2004, initially as a professional dancer and later as a judge. Du Beke's charismatic personality and expertise have made him a beloved figure on the program.
