Team USA Advances to the World Cup with 1-0 Victory Over Iran
Christian Pulisic Scores the Winning Goal
The United States beat Iran 1-0 on Tuesday to advance to the Round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup. Christian Pulisic scored the winning goal in the first half, but was injured in the process and had to be helped off the pitch.
The victory was a major upset, as Iran was ranked 20th in the FIFA World Rankings, while the United States was ranked 16th. It was also the United States' first victory over Iran in a World Cup match.
The United States will now face the Netherlands in the Round of 16 on Saturday.
